What Are the Benefits of Membership?

Authorized members of DaytonMMRS.org have access to additional features, including:

  • Qualitative Fit Test video training, procedures, and checklists
  • Access to Subcommittee efforts and materials

Special note regarding the Dayton MMRS Cache of N-95 Respirators:

When the Dayton MMRS Cache of N-95 Respirator Masks is released, use of Qualitative Fit Test procedures (as opposed to Quantitative) is MANDATORY.  Full information on performing Qualitative Testing is available to Dayton MMRS members, and can be found under “N-95 Info.”

This is because quantitative fit testing of N-95 Masks (using equipment such as a PortaCount) is a destructive test, requiring that a hole be punched in the mask.  We anticipate releasing these masks in the near future as part of our response to the H1N1 Pandemic.  We expect that there will be a severe shortage of masks in the future.  We cannot afford to destroy a mask for each person who is fit tested.

Agencies issuing and fit testing Dayton MMRS Cache N-95 Masks are expected to:

  • Remind personnel to use renewable PPE resources such as PAPRs when possible to conserve the N-95 cache
  • Issue the mask used for testing to the individual.  They can then use the mask in appropriate clinical situations
    • If desired, you may use a soft-tipped pen (e.g., a “Sharpie”) to write the person’s name on the mask
